Reddit Search API

Terms for using the historical search service

Review historical service scope, account responsibilities, per-request charging and invoice-based paid credits for the independent Reddit Search API.

Use the archive within its stated scope

Reddit Search API is an independent historical archive service, not an official or live Reddit product. It provides read-only retrieval rather than posting, voting or messaging. Returned records may be incomplete, and local grouping cannot establish complete conversations. Users must respect applicable law and third-party rights when handling retrieved material. The service supplies no uptime, coverage, immutability or permanent-record-access guarantee; these limits also apply to applications built on its responses.

Account credentials and request accounting

Keep your password and API key protected. Signup shows the key once before payment; signed-in password-confirmed regeneration immediately invalidates the previous key. Each successful retrieval, including an empty result, costs one credit at $1 per 1,000 requests. Invalid requests do not debit, and upstream failures refund reservations. Public status is uncharged. A conditional 100-credit trial is subject to network-wide anti-abuse rules. Keys and balances are specific to this domain.

Paid funding and practical limitations

The minimum paid top-up is $50, corresponding to 50,000 credits. Paid credits do not expire and there is no subscription. Create a signed-in invoice before sending its exact amount to its recipient using the displayed supported token and network. Submit the transaction hash for verification; only a confirmed genuine transfer adds credit. Provider outages may leave verification pending. No payment-speed or wrong-chain-recovery promise is made, and this page establishes no refund policy or governing jurisdiction.
